This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are high need and under privileged with a strong desire to learn and grow. They lack funding and supplies for all the needs they have. With your support you will give them access to a rich and engaging science atmosphere. The students in my class represent the lowest income area in the district and although they are below in the socioeconomic status their desire to learn and be successful is evident and observable by anyone who steps foot in their presence.
My Project
Students will use the Crystal growing to kit to complete labs and be introduced to the new classroom pet, a frog, which is also a science experiment. They will be very hands on in the areas of Science and Technology along with engineering and mathematics to use the skills that they have to complete the extensive and thought provoking activities that come with STEM. Students in the class will be challenged and completed stem activities will be posted so that the growth and progress can be seen by all not just those directly in the school. The program will be very rigorous but will provide them with the experience of a lifetime.
