My Students

My twenty-nine sixth grade students are embracing their role as leaders of our school with pride, excitement, and a great sense of responsibility. As the oldest grade, they take on the responsibility of being the 'big kids'. This group of students has already taken on that responsibility at full speed. They are great 'buddies' to the younger students and are taking advantage of every opportunity to set an example.

During our first week brainstorm for our dream classroom and dream school year, students discussed wanting hands on learning experiences.

They expressed the desire to have learning opportunities that allowed them to create; collaborative, innovate and be creative. We have a few science supplies but we are limited in our access to hands-on STEM materials. I would love to provide my students with these active learning opportunities but am without the resources to accomplish this.

Any support you can give to enable my students these unique learning experiences is greatly appreciated. I would love to work together and make their dream classroom a reality.

My Project

These STEM materials will enable my students to engage in hands on, meaningful learning activities. Integrating math, science, social studies, writing and reading, students will participate in a variety of STEM activities.

STEM empowers learners and helps them develop collaboration, communication, and problem solving skills.

Students will use the Ozobots, Makey Makey kits, and the Snap Circuit kit to learn coding, study electricity, and robotics. They will use the straw kit to build bridges and builgins testing the laws of physics. With the Makedo tools, students will be able to create an endless number of cardboard creations within our classroom MakerSpace.
