Help me give my students materials that are STEM-related and hands-on. With these items, my students will be able to see how plants grow, play math games, build bridges and see the parts of our galaxy.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Powell's classroom raised $191

My Students
I have 12 girls and 11 boys in my first-grade class. They all come to school excited to learn with positive attitudes! We have a sports-themed classroom and I really encourage full inclusion in all that we do. We have built a classroom community that everyone feels welcome, safe and ready to learn.
The students in my classroom have various learning styles and different needs that need to be met to achieve success.
We work together to help one another reach their academic and personal goals.
My Project
I would love to incorporate more STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) into our classroom. First graders are so interested in important things like the life cycle of living and non-living things, what is in our giant galaxy, and how to build houses, tunnels, and bridges. All of these items will target standards in the first-grade curriculum. Some of the items that I am asking for are things like math and engineering games that will make learning more fun!
Giving them access to hands-on materials and letting them explore is the best way to learn!
These STEM materials will pique their interest and make learning so much fun. I think it is very important to create as many different curriculum connections between subjects as possible.
