Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are very special, sweet, and respectful. From the moment they walk into the classroom, I can see that they enjoy coming to school and are eager to learn. They get very excited when we learn something new.

Donations to this project will make a great impact in our class as it will allow us to incorporate books to our STEM challenges to provide students with important background knowledge.

After reading and discussing the book, If I Built a School, my students will be designing and building their dream school. They will think about the problem they are trying to solve, imagine the best way to solve it on their own, sketch out their design, plan with their team, create, experiment, and improve their design if needed. The school must stand on its own and each level must include a detailed floor plan. We will be using the rest of the books the same way. For example, after reading Snowmen at Work, my students will be designing and building a shovel that can scoop up as much snow as possible. They will have time to plan individually and as a team. They love doing STEM challenges and will have lots of fun while learning!
