Stem Gifted Exploration: Turing Tumble Mechanical Computer Study
Help me give my students Turing Tumble games where students learn to build mechanical computers through STEM exploration.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Turing Tumble is a new type of game where players build mechanical computers powered by marbles to solve logic puzzles. Students will utilize ramps, crossovers, bits, interceptors, gears, and gear bits to build marble-powered computers that can generate patterns, do logic, count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and much, much more!
This computer study/ interactive hands-on game teaches students to enjoy solving logic problems while they learn about how binary computer programming works in a fun and hands on way!
This game and demonstration of logic via mechanical computer is set up to where students learn about how mechanical computers function in game-based levels. This means that my students can advance their computational thinking and critical thinking skills at their own accelerated pace...and in a way that feels more like playing. This system of learning has rave reviews especially from engineers and programmers. I've wanted to utilize these computer simulations in my classroom and am excited to watch students develop skillsets to think like a programmer and solving problems through board play.
