Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students enjoy school immensely. Sometimes they get so excited about learning it seems they will just burst. It is infectious.

My students are from a high-poverty region and are predominantly bilingual or English Language Learners.

The students and their families are motivated learners. Some of our parents even come to school to learn along with their children. They are all excited to discover and explore. My amazing kids are deserving of so much more than their economic status currently allows and I want to do everything I can to help them reach a brighter future.

My Project

My students are so excited about new courses in Chess, Lego Robotics, and Computer Programming. With a newer, faster laptop my students will be able to access sites and programs without the lag time that is common using the older devices. We will be able to quickly transition from chess moves, to code debugging, and robot trials. Plus we will be able to download software and files without having to wait for HelpDesk assistance.

I want my students to have opportunities to experience and explore STEM topics without being held back by their lack of technology resources.

With this laptop I can attach it to the classroom projector for whole class viewing or set it up in a center for individual or small group work. I can imagine so many new possibilities with this addition to our classroom. Thank you for helping my students. Peace!
