Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need hands-on activities that offers a play based opportunity for them to develop problem solving and logical, critical thinking skills. They are creative, inquisitive and eager for challenges!
My school is an international baccalaureate school that aims to give students a global perspective.
The student population is wonderfully unique and diverse.
We are a Title I school in a district that is economically disadvantaged with a very diverse group of students who share a common love of technology and learning.
My Project
This year I want to incorporate more STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) hands-on activities in the morning by using STEM bins.
STEM bins offer play based opportunities for students to explore, create and communicate.
They get the students excited about the day and encourage creativity and collaboration while using critical thinking skills.
Children have a natural drive to play, explore and engineer whenever possible. STEM bins will also provide meaningful work that is hands-on, engaging and open ended. Our project is filled with many hands-on materials that will allow them to feed their need to create and understand how things work.
