My Students
Welcome to the world of kindergarten. I am excited to start the year back (LIVE!) This year, my students are extremely special because they are eager to be included in face-to-face instruction. They have thrived being together to learn from each other in person, not from a screen.
In my experience, all students benefit greatly from hands-on learning.
I would like to enhance my STEM curriculum by accessing additional tools that will make learning engaging and create opportunities for high level questioning.
My class always has lots of pent-up energy! They are fun to work with and respond best to learning when they have a chance to engage and explore with hands-on learning.
My Project
By securing more engaging materials that are geared toward fulling the Nevada Academic Science Content Standards, students will have a multitude of choices for learning about coding, engineering and forces of motion.
Students respond to hands-on learning, especially at a very young age.
Children learn best when they are "playing" with specially designed materials that are actually purposefully chosen by educators to provide high-interest learning in the classroom.
These chosen materials will support Nevada Academic Content standards: K-2-ET S1-2, K-2 ET S1-3, K-PS 2-1, and K-P S2-2.
Finding all the materials needed to effectively teach the science content standards can be challenging. Having the opportunity to receive a plethora of colorful, exploratory items will help immensely with creating a high level of learning in my classroom.
Materials such as MagnaTiles will help with understanding of shapes, Discovery Tubes will assist students with learning about forces of motion and Botely coding bots will aids students with basic understanding of computer coding.
