This quote perfectly describes the children I have the pleasure of teaching.
I teach a group of wonderful fourth graders in Southern California. I have the most wonderful students. They are curious, sweet, attentive, hardworking and incredibly creative. I am in awe of my students every single day. They amaze me with the questions they come up with and the topics that they would like to research.
Each day they come in with smiles and the urge to learn. I have never worked with children who were so caring and such a team. I am so thankful I moved here to work with these incredible learners.
My Project
My students are brilliant thinkers, but so much of their learning is done looking at a screen or by sitting and listening. I want students to move and manipulate! This project will do just that.
Students need to manipulate and build to learn, whether that be completing a STEM challenge, a math problem with manipulative, or building a structure, students learn about the process of trial and error.
These materials will be a part of our STEM Bins that students will have access to during our morning time and science time. They will be used to support their learning when it comes to building and engineering. Students will be given different challenges or will be given the opportunity of free exploration to work together on a common group goal.
