Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
California Transitional Kindergarten students have been younger and younger for the last 3 years. This will continue next year as well. I need more STEM supplies for the preschool-aged children to use during free exploration. The students are encouraged to embrace their imaginations and creativity. They learn best while playing with peers. The supplies will help the students to develop necessary cognitive and social skills. Young children are naturally curious about the world. The items chosen will help my students to build confidence and enjoy school.
My classroom has five immigrant children who are homeless.
They look forward to playing with their friends inside my classroom each day. Several other children are poor and unable to afford toys at home. My hope is to create a welcoming environment where the students want to play and learn each day. This project will undoubtedly assist with my goals.
Most of the supplies used in class have been purchased by me. I need help with providing materials that will help my students to learn. I care deeply about the children in my care.
