Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a Title 1 school and most families speak a language other than English at home. My students often have fewer experiences than most children so it is always my goal to expose them to as many unique opportunities as I can. Hands on STEM bins is a creative and developmentally appropriate form of engineering for elementary students.
STEM gives children the opportunity to think divergently, inventively, and imaginatively.
Children work with specified constraints and develop problem solving skills to build creative designs. In addition to examining multiple perspectives in visual arts, students build fine motor skills too.
More than half of students from low‑income households
