This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I serve Gifted and Talented students in a highly diverse, low-income district. The students come from many different backgrounds and a majority of our students speak a second language. Our students come from supportive families who want the best for their kids but often do not have the resources they need to assist them. These students are focused and excited to learn.

Gifted students are tomorrow's leaders, inventors, problem-solvers and creators!

Providing them with opportunities to think critically and collaborate is essential for their success while providing them more opportunities to be more college and career ready!

My Project

The addition of the Sublimation Transfer Heat Press will allow transition my students from ironing to utilizing STEM maker machinery for their in-school design studio and storefront. We chose this printer because it can use sublimation techniques to 6 different products including coffee cups, hats, and t-shirts. Students will analyze design trends for these six different products. They will then choose one product to manufacture, create a marketing campaign, and stock inventory of their product in our school store. Students will stock and inventory the school store with their personally designed product, manage and evaluate the sales of their personal personal products, conduct surveys to the school student body, and modify their product according to consumer needs.
