Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Technology surrounds our students, but over the last few years, they have used it for only basic tasks such as joining a Zoom call or social media and gaming. They lack the key college/career skills to share and collaborate on documents, use graphical analysis software to obtain and collect data, create effective explanations, and communicate their findings.
Our students need equitable access to technology in order to promote and develop their own social and mental capabilities moving into a 21st-century workforce.
In our science classes, students connect these tablets via Bluetooth to our sensors, which takes them out of the lab and into the real world! With these donated tablets, our students can gain all of the above skills and continue to grow to be successful in the 21st-century world.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
