My Students

My students are part of the Academy of Information Technology, a four year Information Technology program. Students learn Introduction to Information Technology (Year 1), Digital Media(Year 2), Web Design(Year 3), and AP Computer Science Principles(Year 4).

We are a STEM/STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) school.Currently the Academy of IT has just under 200 students in grade 9-12.

More than half of my students are from low-income households. My classroom infuses STEM/STEAM into the curriculum to allow student to have a cross curriculum instruction that incorporate their core subject areas.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting for my students will be used for students to learn Coding in a fun and exciting way. With the Sphero and Amazon Tablet my students will be able to work in teams to learn/create code in a collaborative way. Instead of students sitting in front of a computer to write code, The Sphero is perfect for students to see their code working live in front of them.

Anyone can code and these resources will help my student do just that code.

The RAM will be used to upgrade some of the older computers in the classroom. The Headphones will allow my students to watch instructional videos as well as when working on video editing the ability to edit without distraction.
