This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I truly enjoy watching my scholars and my recently new comers that have joined my classroom over these past few months, enjoy STEM and ART related activities during their STEM LAB and ART Ancillary Class. They attend this class only every other 3 weeks. These resources are costly and my scholars don't have these types of materials at home nor do we have a enough of these resources on campus. My Scholars have a drive for exploring more with hands-on STEM activities and having these resources available for them in my classroom would be awesome for them. My students come from families where both parents work some even at night so funds and time with their parents is scarce. This would make their classroom learning experience even more memorable.

My Project

The STEM and ART materials I am requesting is important so my scholars can have exposure because it pervades as a daily part of their lives. By exposing my scholars to STEM and ART related concepts I am providing them with opportunities to explore and develop a passion for it and hopefully pursue a job in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) or in the ARTS.

My scholars will work with skills with STEM and ARTS like problem solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently.

Students will get to explore with the materials that I have requested like the magnets, STEM Kits, and legos by finding new challenges and demonstration with these hands on STEM activities. The Dry Erase pockets will help my new comer scholars improve skills so they can easily practice math problems or reading and writing skills my here they can highlight and write vocabulary words from reading passages. and hear themselves reading fluently. The reading phones I requested are perfect so my newcomers that have been arriving these past months can promote their phonemic awareness and develop themselves into proficient readers.
