Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn. Every day they come excited to explore the world of science. They know that it will be fun and engaging because, as their teacher, I strive to make it so. I create stations in my classroom, each one a destination where my students can discover their own understanding.
My students are living in a world where they can be anything they dream of, but they don't even know how to dream.
They are struggling to get to school most days. They worry about what awaits them when they leave school. My students live in a level of poverty most Americans have never witnessed first-hand. My students come to school because they know that they are safe here. But they are capable of much more than just survival.
I want the whole world for my students. I know that they deserve the very best, and I want to give it to them.
My Project
The materials I have asked for will help my students complete more tasks in the fifty minutes a day that I get to see them. My students need organizational bins, a classroom timer, and pocket charts to improve the operation of their science centers. These materials will keep them organized and on-task. They will use the bins to organize necessary supplies, the pocket charts to keep their instructions at the appropriate center, and the timer to rotate through each center in the short class time we share.
These materials will change how my students work. They will learn how to manage their time efficiently and effectively. My students will learn to be successful by developing organizational skills. These materials will increase the amount of time my students get to spend learning by reducing the amount of time spent cleaning up at the end of class.
My students love science, and they want to learn.
I strive to improve their learning experiences by providing the best environment for them to explore, experiment, and engage in. I want my students to dream big dreams, and I want them to someday achieve these dreams.
