Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I would like to add some excitement and exploration to my library through STEM-related books! Having resources in the classroom where students can access STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities and literature will allow students to expand their creativity, critical thinking, and learning.
With your help, my students will have books that help to enhance their STEM education!
I teach at a Title I school, where everyone receives free breakfast, and over 75% of our students receive free lunch. Many of my students do not have the required uniform or a backpack on a daily basis. I am looking to promote STEM education by offering books about science, technology, engineering, and math!
My Project
Kids are natural explorers and scientists! These books will broaden the opportunities for learning that my students will be able to get. Books offer a resource for exploration and critical thinking for kids, and can give them ideas for them to try on their own in our morning STEM bins!
The STEM books I have chosen will be placed in our library for students to check out and read at their leisure.
The books offer high-interest topics that will further each student's understanding and thinking. These chosen books will also encourage my students to be innovative thinkers while opening them up to many different areas in the math and science worlds.
