My Project
In my Kindergarten/First Grade Classroom I want to create an environment where students can create and explore with different materials. I plan to use these materials to make STEM bins for my students to use in the mornings before class begins. This will give them some time to transition from home to school in a way that is open-ended but gets their creative juices flowing.
Having access to these materials will create an exploratory part of our daily routine to support learning through open ended play.
I believe that this STEM bin time will be more beneficial to them than just passing out a morning worksheet to complete until we are all unpacked and ready to start the day. My students are so curious and this will give them time to create and work together on projects everyday at school.
