Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the type that keep me on my toes and always smiling. They inspire me to work harder and see the world through their eyes! They have taught me many things throughout the years.
One of the most important lessons these children have taught me is that "Learning should always be fun!" I currently teach a group of second grade superstars who have a curiosity for learning new things!
The students range in age from 7 to 8 years old. My school is located in Nevada in a high-need, low income community. You won't meet a more inspiring group of kids!
My Project
Incorporating STEM bins in my classroom will allow my students the opportunity to see how structures are made, develop language to describe their structures, and compare the structures with other classmates. These manipulatives are a great resource for students to help foster their creativity and building skills.
The STEM bins come with eight amazing challenges for the students to explore!
These STEM bins will be helping my students in the areas of science, math, and writing. Another amazing benefit of these STEM bins is helping the students to work on their problem-solving skills. The STEM bins will help students learn the engineering process. The students will have learned to develop a plan, execute their plan, make modifications to their plan, and record their final results. The students will be able to use these bins during center rotations or if they finish work early. Overall this STEM bin is a great way for students to have some fun while learning some valuable skills.
