My Project

In our 3rd grade classroom, STEM bin activities provide students with hands-on opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math concepts in a fun and engaging way. These bins are filled with simple building materials like LEGO bricks, magnet sticks, pipe connectors, and more, allowing students to design, build, and problem-solve using their creativity and critical thinking skills. Each bin includes a challenge or prompt that encourages students to think like engineers as they test ideas, revise designs, and collaborate with classmates.

Students use STEM bins during morning work, early finisher time, or as part of our science and math centers.

These activities support the development of important 21st-century skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and innovation. They also help reinforce key academic standards by encouraging students to apply math and science concepts in real-world ways. STEM bins are a favorite in our classroom because they make learning feel like play while building a strong foundation for future learning.
