My Project

This project will enhance early engineering and design thinking in K–6 students by creating a set of STEM bins filled with engaging, hands-on building materials. These bins will include bristle blocks, Picasso Kids pixel cubes, foam building blocks, LEGO bricks, waffle blocks, and stacking rocks. Each material offers unique tactile, spatial, and creative opportunities for students to explore fundamental STEM concepts through play and inquiry-based learning.

These open-ended materials foster creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving by encouraging students to imagine, design, build, test, and revise their structures.

They help students develop essential 21st-century skills such as perseverance, spatial awareness, engineering design, and innovation—all in an age-appropriate, engaging way.

In addition to supporting STEM standards, the bins will provide opportunities for language development, fine motor skill growth, and social-emotional learning. By integrating STEM bins into the daily routine, students will have regular opportunities to explore, experiment, and build confidence as thinkers and creators.
