Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st-century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them! I teach 30 curious fourth-grade scientists in a small, Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn, and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
These STEM Bins are a needed and necessary part of our Science and Engineering program. Each bin has the materials needed for individual and group exploration and provides students with activities that align with national standards. They also contain activities that integrate science with other curricular areas such as writing and reading!
My students love Science and Engineering!
They love to explore, investigate, and experiment. As their teacher, I provide them with the materials they need to learn and grow. These bins will be a wonderful addition to our Science program and a wonderful resource for my students for many years to come.
