My Students
These materials are for a wonderful group of 3rd graders who are excited about learning! My favorite part of teaching is helping my students develop a love for learning! Our school is amazing, and it is a very warm and inviting place. We have a wonderful community of teachers, parents, and students working hard every day to help everyone succeed.
My school has a very diverse population of students and families.
We are located in what some call a bedroom community, because parents work farther from home. Some of our students are low income, English Language Learners, come from single-parent homes, or are living with other guardians. It can be challenging meeting the needs of the varying abilities and backgrounds of the students, but it is something I enjoy doing. I am looking to instill a love for learning in my students.
My Project
My students would have access to these STEM bins anytime they are finished with other work. STEM bins help students solve problems by providing them with problem specified constraints. It helps them develop creative design skills while also using real-world designs. Students can construct two-dimensional shapes, three-dimensional shapes, examine multiple perspectives in visual arts all while building their fine motor skills. These bins can be completed by a single student or in groups. Because these kits are suited for grade K-5, they are something that my students could use with their little buddy class.
Stem bins encourage creative thinking!
Students become engineers all while learning great math and science skills as well as utilizing their reading skills. My students love learning about science and this is a great way to give them another hands on opportunity!
