My Project
I teach 7th grade math and science in Oakland, CA. Our classes are held entirely online. Families choose our school for a variety of reasons, from health concerns to issues with bullying. My colleagues and I are dedicated to giving our students quality education they deserve in a virtual setting.
Students need hands-on experience with science experiments and projects to develop a solid understanding of the scientific method.
Since coming to this school 3 years ago, I have struggled with providing the full range of science education. Many of our families struggle with poverty and housing insecurity. I can't assume they have the materials to do simple science experiments at home. That is why I am asking for help to send each of my students a STEM kit of their own that I will use build lessons that encourage curiosity and critical thinking.
