My Students

I have a group of twenty-two amazing five-year-old Kindergarten students. We are located in a small rural district in northeastern Oklahoma. The majority of the schools in our district are Title I. Our community has a very high Native American population, as it is the home for nine Tribal Nations. Many of my students are experiencing being in a school setting for the first time. We are preparing them and building a foundation for them to continue to become successful scholars.

My Project

In today's society we are raising students and preparing them for jobs that haven't even been created yet. That is why STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) is so important in today's classroom.

My project is for Engineering items, my class needs hands on building materials.

We have asked for some outdoor jumbo log builders and ramps exploration set. Both of these items help a student with their global exploration and with their surrounding. Engineering uses science and math to solve real world problems.We are also asking for some outdoor storage so that they are not left out in the elements.

We are looking forward to getting these items, and in the hands of our students.
