Stem and Literacy Activities for Dual Language Learners.
Help me give my students a letter pocket chart, alphabet learning locks, and other materials to use as interactive and hands-on experiences during center time!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In Pre-K, the day is broken up into multiple parts. The most important part of our Pre-K day is center time. Students engage in over two hours of center time each day, where they utilize free choice to play in the section of their choosing, which includes science, math, art, writing, blocks, music, library, and more. Research shows that students learn best through play, and hands-on, interactive games and other activities are best not only for students in early childhood but also students who are learning a new language, as my students are. My class is a dual language class where children are learning in both Spanish and English. By giving our classroom alphabet activities as well as other science, music, and art materials, you are providing them an educational experience that would help my students truly excel.
