My students need a magnetic design center and designing roller coaster sets.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need the opportunity to test how to make a roller coaster work. Learning through experimentation makes everything fun.
They come into school every day eager to learn something new.
We are a Title I school with close to 600 students. The majority of my students are English Language Learners who need additional materials to support learning new vocabulary and skills simultaneously.
Many people have said that our school is a hidden treasure, and for that reason, it can be difficult to locate. Because we are tucked into a small neighborhood, we do not receive much community support to fund classroom needs. Many of our teachers purchase materials independently or seek funding for materials.
My Project
The magnetic wall and coaster building sets will be used to support our STEM goals for science, technology, engineering, and math.
In pairs, the students will come up with a plan on how to build the roller coasters along the magnetic wall. They will learn more about physics and magnets while also learning how to work together and have fun at the same time.
The magnetic wall can also be used during literacy workstations while the students use letter magnets to make words and words magnets to make sentences. Additionally, they will use the wall during math to make groups of numbers to show what they know.
Thank you for your support for my project.
It means a lot to me because I know how important it is for my students to receive these items to support their science, literacy, and math goals. Your donation gives them all of these learning experiences.
