This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In the middle of Compton is a small charter school defying the odds of violence and poverty. These students are beyond excited to come to school each day to learn and be successful. As teachers, we have encouraged college and give them tools to be excelling learners. My students are motivated, kind, and eager learners that want an equal opportunity.
My students deserve the same learning opportunities as any other school in the surrounding neighborhoods.
They have earned the right to be the first generation to go to college.
My Project
Having Coding Robots will greatly impact students' learning in the science and technology subject areas. As the technology field keeps changing, we need to teach the students to adapt to new technology. We strive to have each student attend college, be successful, and be a great citizen to help the community.
The Coding Robots will be used as a great engagement tool to encourage students to become engineers and scientists.
These materials will be used school wide and encourage students of all levels to create and design. They will be included in science and math lessons and asked higher order thinking questions in order to solve a problem. This will develop our school into becoming a successful STEM program.
