My Students
Every morning our school shouts out our motto, which describes them as being a leader, responsible, respectful, resourceful, and proud. My students follow this motto in school and in life.
My students come from a city that has been considered one of the most dangerous cities in America.
Despite that, they are creating their own path to a successful future. It amazes me to see how fully engaged they are to learn each and every day. I feel privileged to teach such a great group of kids.
My Project
My students can come into school as early as 7:30am and can stay until 6:00pm. They are provided with free breakfast, lunch, and dinner since all of our students qualify for the free lunch program. From 3:00pm-6:00pm they are able to eat dinner, complete their homework and participate in an after school activity. When the weather was nicer, we would go outside. Now that the weather is getting colder we want to do more art and STEM projects in the after school program.
STEM and art projects go hand in hand.
With these materials, my students will be able to create different projects during our after school program. They are going to be able to create bridges and explore different types of bridges using craft sticks. They will be able to make light using the batteries. There are many other STEM activities that students will be able to come up with by themselves because of all these materials! My students can not wait to make their own window art!
