My Students
Every morning our school shouts out our motto, which describes them as being a leader, responsible, respectful, resourceful, and proud. My students follow this motto in school and in life.
My students come from a city that has been considered one of the most dangerous cities in America.
Despite that, they are creating their own path to a successful future. It amazes me to see how fully engaged they are to learn each and every day. I feel privileged to teach such a great group of kids.
My Project
I am the after school coordinator for my school. Our teachers are in desperate need of STEM and art materials. We are on a mission to bring STEM and art into our program. In order for this to happen we need materials.
Hands-on, minds-on!
If students are doing a hands-on activities then I know their minds are activated and they are learning and having FUN! Students will be able to create bridges using spaghetti and the cups. They will be able to create towers using marshmallows and spaghetti. Students could also use toothpicks! They could even create a project to determine which materials create the strongest buildings! Our students love science and art and to put them together they will be ecstatic! Now that the weather is getting colder we can no longer explore outside so we need more indoor activities to do!
