I teach 26 enthusiastic Kindergarten students. It is the first classroom experience for many of my students. They are at an age where art, movement, and dramatic play are the most meaningful and exciting times of the day. So many concepts can be reinforced during these times. My students come from many different cultural backgrounds. Some of my students come from low income families who qualify for free or reduced price lunch, some have special needs and have an Individualized Education Plan, and others are second language learners. This diverse group of learners use art as a tool to express learning through fine motor development, personal development, and imagination.
My Project
Kindergarten students are so excited when they hear the word "science" because they know they will be doing something that they get to figure out on their own! When I pull out the science kits, they are so engaged, it is like they are learning without even knowing it! The Blocks and Blueprints center will engage the future engineers in hands-on learning.
With the Blocks and Blueprints, my little architects will be able to grab their blueprints and get building!
Packed with 50 smooth wooden blocks, our center challenges children to re-create 20 different designs using blueprints to help guide their building. Each blueprint features a footprint of the structure that kids can build right on top of—plus illustrations that show the design from 3 different angles…so children get lots of practice with spatial reasoning, building 3-D structures, early STEM skills and more!
Everything looks better in color! Our STEM activities come to life when the directions are printed in color. So the color ink will replace the cartridges for months to come.
