My Project
Science phenomena creates a perfect opportunity to let students independently learn and share new ideas in a structured manner. My middle school students are curious, social, and innovative, and are always looking for ways to become independent scholars. Transforming my classroom into a station-based learning space will allow them to think and collaborate on their own, and create a student-centered environment.
I want my students to take pride in their science classroom and appreciate their freedom to learn.
This project will help supply three daily rotating stations that students work on collaboratively. Each station will have a different activity for the day, and at the end of the week, all students are receiving the same content and there will even be time to review in a whole group setting. Each student will have their own binder with a weekly checklist to make sure all students are on task.
What makes my students special is the authentic personalities that emerge when science becomes fun and they are able to have a bit of freedom! My students are not afraid to express their likes and dislikes about school so transforming my classroom space into an innovative learning environment is my goal this year.
