My Students
I am about to begin my second year of teaching music at the elementary school level, I can say that I am having the time of my life! It is such a joy to be able to see these students embrace music!
It is a huge blessing to see the looks on students' faces as they explore and learn about the many instruments they can use to express themselves.
The children in our school are bright, kind, and eager to make an impact in their community, even after going through the experience of Hurricane Michael in October of 2018. They are helpful and love to take on new challenges! It will be amazing this year and in years to come, to bring out their confidence and see where we go!
My Project
Our students will be able to make music and express themselves in new ways using these steel drums! These drums make a new sound that many of our students haven't had the opportunity to experiment with yet. It will be fun to see the musical ideas they come up with as they explore using these instruments. The instruments will allow students to reinforce musical concepts in the upper grades and will allow students in lower grades to reinforce letter recognition and alphabet concepts.
I am excited about all the possibilities for using these instruments in instruction of multiple ideas and concepts.
