Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten students rock! I teach 22 active 5 years old at a Title 1 school, where over 95% of my students are on free or reduced lunch.
In spite of the hardships my students may face, they arrive to my classroom everyday with a smile on their face and ready to learn.
Our school serves students from a low income and high poverty area. My students deal with challenges in the classroom and at home. When a child walks into my classroom, I want them to feel special and forget any hardships they may be going through.
My Project
My students need laptops and headphones to work on math and science skills. I am teaching my students to become independent by allowing to dig deeper into their learning and become problem solvers.
Technology is our future and my students are ready to succeed!
Having these 4 laptops in the classroom would be very helpful,since our technology is very limited at our school and it will allow more students to have access to technology on a daily basis. They will use the laptops for coding and to research different topics.
My classroom also needs a document camera to project assignments and books to read as a whole class when our Internet is down in the classroom. Finally, my class is in need of toner to print different activities while my students are working independently. These resources will prepare my students for the future!
