My students need funds for transportation in order to visit the California Science Center and receive hands on Science, Engineering and Technology experiences.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at HA are part of an inner city community where they have very few opportunities to experience hands-on activities. My students are first grade students who are experiencing their first year in a STEAM Magnet school. Our campus recently added a STEAM Magnet class to each grade level and these students are a part of the very first class. These students not only show perseverance in school but in their everyday lives. The work very hard and hope for a better future, despite the meek circumstances that surround them. Due to the students recently becoming a part of our new STEAM Magnet school, these students need various opportunities to experience hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math within their everyday learning. Our students are asking for donations in order to take a field trip to the California Science Center. Your donations will help us receive transportation services (buses) for all of our students to go to the California Science Center.
My Project
Our students come from a lower-socioeconomic area in which they unfortunately do not have many opportunities to experience engaging educational activities outside of the classroom. Our students are a part of a brand new STEAM Magnet program within our school and this would be a fantastic opportunity for them to be able to experience hands on activities outside of the classroom.
Allowing our students the opportunities to experience field trips such as this one will not only excite them about learning more about STEAM, but will keep them engaged in learning as well.
Our students will be able to take what they have learned within the classroom and apply it to real world experiences.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
