My students need a Wonder Workshop Dash & Dot Robot Wonder Pack for our STEAM and robotics integration program, so they can make connections between the arts, computers and robotics.
"Every child deserves a champion; an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be." - Rita Pierson
My students are energetic, diverse, creative, positive, enthusiastic and excited to learn.
They strive to learn to the best of their abilities every day. It is a school that is supporting our students through rigorous (and fun) learning and relationship building. The students at our school are eager learners.
Our school is in a fast growing community with students from a variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. My students love anything to do with robotics and technology.
My Project
"When can I learn to program a robot, Mrs. C?" This is a phrase I hear so often in my class.
My students will learn very valuable life skills while programming Dash and Dot robots.
Using trial and error, and teamwork, students will learn not only programming but also very valuable life skills -- how to keep trying and how to get along with others. Students will program the robots to drive, turn, stop, speed up, slow down, dance, etc.
Learning how to program, helps students learn a new language -- building computer literacy.
Learning how to problem solve, will help build persistence. Learning how to work with others, will help students build empathy and teamwork.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
