Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our program services over 19 students school wide. My students collectively struggle with impairments in academics, appropriate social communication, physical movement, and speech and language delays. They require continuous monitoring and multiple instructional approaches to access their education.
Their eagerness to learn is profusely invigorating.
Nevertheless, we make it happen! Using an iPad in the classroom, will engage their thirst for knowledge in a way that all students may benefit independently. I will use the iPad for centers and whole group instructional approach in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (S.T.E.A.M.).
My Project
Our students would benefit greatly from an iPad Pro for S.T.E.A.M. centers, a rugged cover and keyboard for safe keeping and easy use, as well as the 2 year protection plan. My students will be introduced to the book "Scientist Ada Twist" before beginning any projects. Once they have completed reading the book, they would be able to use interactive programs on the iPad to create amazing projects. My students will be able to showcase their inventions and maker spaces to their friends and family when it is completed at their pace. Collaborating with their peers to design plans will create social interactions, hands on approach to learning, and team building.
