Help me give my students STEAM books to read aloud for my students to make connections with, before doing STEAM challenges and a popcorn popper, and sublimation items for robotics students to make items to represent our team worlds.
This is my first year as a STEAM educator and I love connecting my engineering design challenges with read-alouds. My students seem to be more engaged and invested in our activities when they can put themselves in the character’s shoes, or make a connection to the book we read.
The books I’ve selected will bring these STEAM challenges to life!
I also have materials to make sublimation air fresheners. My first year robotics team has made it to worlds and will be creating their own air fresheners to hand out to promote our robotics team. Promoting our team means sharing about what they do on our team and what they've learned while being part of a team. I have popcorn kits on my list because almost all of my students never turn down the opportunity to earn popcorn for working hard in my classroom whether it’s an individual, partner, or group challenge. It doesn’t matter, because, in the end, we all get to enjoy the buttery popcorn! Thank you for supporting my STEAM class!
