Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school has a diverse population of approximately 1,100 students and is located in a low-income community. The school is organized into three academies: early childhood, elementary, and middle school.

Our students are eager to learn and have shown great interest in the hands-on learning that STEAM offers to them.

This will help grow our program and challenge them.

My Project

Our school has started a new STEAM program that has captured students in ways we never thought possible. Students who struggle, students with language barriers, students who are gifted, and more are eager to work in the STEAM program. I am building a Makerspace and want to have a variety of hands-on materials for students to work with to inspire creativity and help with problem-solving skills. This Makerspace and resources like the Sphero Kits, headphones, and tool kits will challenge our students and empower them with project-based learning. It will encourage them to think freely, explore, and the ability to test and build.
