This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are from Nevada and are a part of a statewide recognized Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) School. Our school provides scholars from all backgrounds, cultures, and many incomes an opportunity to discover, learn, and thrive. My enthusiastic second graders arrive to the classroom prepared to explore, uncover, and discover.
They eagerly create, build, design, read, write, and make choices all through the day.
They shine when they use various tools to explore and create their work in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
My Project
These STEAM books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Our classroom library is a place where we really enjoy. We read on the carpet, we complete work there, and we read independently! Every student book that is placed in our library is valued with love and care, and we are thankful for the opportunities given to us to read. All these books have been chosen with our top science interests in mind. I have enjoyed watching them the past few weeks of school become more and more excited to read science books just like these, and I have also asked them what science books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to discover independent reading time.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read and explore different science areas.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to grow reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astounding attentiveness in independent reading, and these books will only help enhance their experiences with reading in the STEAM areas.
