S.T.E.A.M. Goes 3D to Help Others!

My students need 6 3Doodler pens, design accessories and filament to implement innovative STEAM experiments, make models, and design tools to solve real world problems.

My Students

In order to be more awesome my students are on a journey to challenge their current talents and further their research into STEAM by trying new things and finding creative ways to serve our community. "If we always do what we've always done, we will always get what we already have!"

Team Infinity is a group of fourth and fifth grade students who have the capacity to digest information faster than their same age peers, and need to be challenged in order to remain engaged.

They represent many different ethnic backgrounds ability levels and socioeconomic status. Their skills range greatly with technology and their interests vary far and wide but what they all have in common is a desire to help other people and to take smart risks!

My Project

They need opportunities to work with other people and be allowed to explore innovative technology tools to put their ideas into action. Through the steps of the engineering design process they can create new devices that solve real-world problems. The process of communication, design, and re-design allows them be a part of a team and get feedback on ideas. The 3Doodler pens will require two students to collaborate, think and act confidently, make decisions based on supplies and access, and show mastery of advanced content in science. The teams will be encouraged to problem solve independently and to teach others what they master. This project will continue to reinforce my goal for my students to be autonomous learners and leaders.

This project will give students access to tools they would never be given access to otherwise.

It will complement our 3-D printer lab but will give students more opportunity to design and gain confidence before attempting to operate our 3-D printer. It will improve their educational experience by giving them concrete learning to take forward with them to their middle school, high school, college and career years.
