Help me give my students paint brushes, a microwave kiln, glass pens and other materials to learn the art of fusing glass to create beautiful masterpieces.
My students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds in an urban neighborhood. They attend an alternative education program designed for students in elementary and middle school who struggle in a regular school setting for various reasons. My students deserve to feel proud, believed in, and that they are able to create something wonderful. Some of my students struggle with a range of learning disabilities and emotional disorders, and some lack a stable home life.
Even with the external stress that surrounds them on a daily basis, they remain hardworking, talented and driven.
I am requesting a microwave kiln and glass working materials to allow my students the opportunity to create their own beautiful works of fused glass art.
These project materials will enable my students to learn a new form of art and the beautiful skill of fusing glass.
