Help me give my students materials to create their own DIY products for mind, body, and soul. We need a printer, jars, spray bottles, paper plates and more.
This project will target ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) level 1 to 4 students. The goal is to develop their English and conversation skills once a week after school and participate in monthly hands-on STEAM-based enrichment activities. Students will learn how to make various DIY Body products including body butter, lip balm, room spray using essential oils, sugar scrub, and essential oil roller. They will also watch step-by-step videos and will use close captions in their native language to understand the steps and then share out in English. Students will also build and design their own labels in Canva for their jars and will print them using the printer. These students connect their Science and Math skills with these activities. They will feel more comfortable speaking English, and develop meaningful relationships with their peers and teachers in a judge-free zone.
