My students need these K'Nex kits to use in the Makerspace to create and apply the knowledge they are acquiring in the science classroom. This is a good tool to enhance our STEAM curriculum.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Barker's classroom raised $600

My Students
62% of the students in our school receive free/reduced-price lunch and other government assistance to meet their basic needs. That number continues to climb each year. However, the challenges these students face on a daily basis do not limit their determination to learn.
These students are creative, clever and courageous.
Our diverse population of students from all different backgrounds and abilities need to have opportunities to be as prepared for college or the workforce as their peers around the country. We just need to give them the tools to take their creativity, cleverness, and courage to the next level.
My Project
Building concrete models that display what they have learned about energy, motion and aeronautics as well as organisms and life-cycles will allow students to demonstrate the knowledge they have acquired in the classroom.
As a school, we are transitioning to a project-based STEAM curriculum and hands-on learning is important as students learn a new way to learn.
These K'nex kits will allow students to create, collaborate and think critically while applying what they are learning in the classroom. These will be housed in our Media Center Makerspace and can be used in the Makerspace and can also be checked out for teachers to use in the classroom to enhance their science lessons.
