This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all Hispanic. Most of them do not have a computer or other technology at home. They are exposed to violence and socioeconomic limitations like lack of food or resources others take for granted. Our school provides a safe environment away from gangs and other socioeconomic limitations. In my classroom, my students get to dream with the sky as the limit. They've planned future traveling plans, designed their dream homes, and have become celebrated community heroes. The classroom is a safe haven where dreaming big is encouraged. Nothing is impossible when they dream, write, and share their future plans. They will thrive as enthusiastic learners when they are provided with memories that will last a lifetime. They will experience and recollect their memories in a whole new way.
My Project
Recently, there has been a push to teach robotics in the upper grades in elementary schools. Many would agree that teachers need to teach physical science basics before they teach complex topics. However, hands-on material makes teaching complex topics like robotics fun and easy to comprehend. I know that my students will be better students and will be able to comprehend science more, after they are exposed to the requested hands-on science supplies. I have requested STEM three TT570X - Design & Play STEAM Kits - Complete Set and three TT573 - Design & Play STEAM Planes Kit to begin our quest at an easier level for my students. I can assure you that my students will enhance their learning because these supplies will be innovative, engaging, and motivating. My students will have kits that will teach them exciting, hands-on lessons in electronics. The kits have components that combine with each other to create working circuit boards just like the ones found inside TVs, radios, and other devices. The kits will teach my students how to build simple electric machines.
