This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Pre-K students are the future of tomorrow and need to be exposed to innovative ways of teaching and learning to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. Acquiring knowledge and experience using the STEAM/STEM approach will enable them to be prepared for jobs that have not been invented yet.

Therefore, by using STEAM and STEM teaching and learning activities, I would like to build a community of young learners as problem solvers with an open mindset to respect and acknowledge different perspectives, team building and communication skills.

The STEAM Fairy Tales kit will not only require the students to read the stories but also find solutions to resolve problems. Using the STEM Starter Kit activity tasks will extend students' knowledge as they begin to utilize the available resources to conduct hands-on STEAM/STEM experiments, create projects and complete assigned activities. I believe in a holistic approach to embed STEAM/STEM activities by using the Bright Light Box for teaching and learning. The students will acquire tools to continue exploring the world around them as they move up to higher grades. Early years are the most important years in a young child's life to build a strong foundation to develop skills and knowledge. In short, your support will mean the world to me and my students as we embark on a new journey of becoming a STEAM/STEM 21st century classroom.
