Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are so hungry for knowledge. With the past two years of their education being so deeply hindered by Covid-19 my students are the most resilient and hardworking students I have ever met. They set their own goals and work hard in and out of school to fill their gaps with any resource they can get their hands on. They are kind, compassionate, and gritty.

My Project

The last two years, students and teachers have been focusing on catching up in Language Arts and Math. Without support from Science and Social Studies students have gaps in their understanding of the world around them. We can try and integrate these subjects as best as we can into ELA and Math but students need hands-on experiments to explore our Science standards in fourth grade. Students are fascinated by history and geography and want to know more about our planet and the people who have lived on it and changed it. These are two crucial subjects that they have missed out on or haven't had enough of during these past few years due to the pandemic.
