This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 4th and 5th Grade Enrichment classes have been engaged in reading novels this year while incorporating S.T.E.A.M. principles into our studies. In my classroom, I have limited resources to support these S.T.E.A.M. initiatives. With LEGO, art supplies, the magnetic maze, puzzles, and mazes we can continue to grow in our S.T.E.A.M. skills. Using those materials we can recreate scenes and story lines of the novels we are reading. With your support and generosity, my students can continue to explore their creative talents through engineering and art, all while enhancing their reading skills through literature.

The goal of this project is to foster my students' creativity, reading comprehension, and problem-solving abilities during enrichment classes.

It is truly inspiring to witness their imaginative thinking and the complexity of their ideas. However, with restricted supplies, it can be challenging to support all their initiatives, often leading me to purchase materials from my own funds.

I genuinely wish you could experience a day in our enrichment classes. The open discussions and conversations centered around the novels we explore have been enlightening. I am so proud of my students and the effort they put forth. As always, my students and I are deeply thankful to all who have supported us through DonorsChoose.
