This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach Science to all 3rd through 5th grade classes in an urban area where most of my students are from a low socio-economic background. I have implemented engineering and planning into my lessons as part of the Next Generation Science Standards. My students love it when they can do a STEM activity or when they are allowed to plan and create using Brain Flakes and LEGO bins.
I am seeking funding to add another bin of LEGO to the class STEM materials.
Additionally, I would like to add Keva planks and Plus-Plus pieces to my STEM supplies so that my students can continue to plan, collaborate, and create while building different objects.
