STEAD Food Crew- Our Way of School Food Service

Help me give my students aprons, knives, kitchen scales, and basic classroom supplies such as markers, tape and notebooks so we can run our student-led food service program more effectively.

My Project

STEAD is a project based learning high school that focuses on educating our students on the importance of real world applications to their problems. At STEAD, we run out own self operational food service program, where the students are the ones making the lunch everyday for their peers.

Two teams of 11-15 students prep our food every single day, feeding our student body and staff scratch made meals that also adhere to the National School Lunch Program guidelines for healthy eating.

We harvest crops grown on site at our student led farm, as well as source ingredients from nearby farmers.

We hope to expand the program by offering even more creative food options, and to be able to measure, cook and serve our food to our community to the best of our ability.
